Today I’m sharing a project I created for eHow with Valentine’s Day in mind, but that could easily be used year-round: DIY Branch Heart Wall Art!
We have had some pretty serious flooding earlier in January and all of our close-by rivers swelled, which knocked loose a lot of tree branches and debris. Since the flooding has long since receded, I recently went and gathered some dead tree branches and twigs to make this fun project!
Here is the sneak peek I gave my Instagram friends:
Isn’t it so fun? I love the texture and color it adds to this little corner of my master.
The shape of the hanging doesn’t HAVE to be a heart… you could do a variety of shapes and a variety of colors.
Either way it really is the best sort of project since all of the supplies are either free or you likely have them in your house right now. No shopping needed for this one!

Love it!! Just a thought….even cuter, would be to add to the stick above heart and make into an arrow by gluing more twig or using gold wire or wrapping gold wire around glued twig! (Very much Valentine and on trend) BUT I also love just as is.

This is beautiful. From a Feng Shui perspective, this would be perfect in the Southwest corner of a home as well as the bedroom.

Who would’ve thought? This is so clever and beautiful and i like the added idea touch from another Pinner that suggested turning top stick to an arrow and adding gold wire…such clever ideas. Just amazing.

Hi Rachel,
I love this idea! Question for you.. I work for a mortgage company where I run their social media pages. I would like to share this on our page a as a fun home decor Valentine’s idea. However, we are unable to find this photo on Shutterstock to use (since we are unable to just pull the photo off your blog) Is there anyway you could send me the photo of this and we will 100% be sharing the link to this article for people to go to and see that it’s yours. Let me know and if not that is totally okay! I just love this decor idea! Thanks!
