Yesterday I finally put the finishing touches on this awesome chest of drawers:
Remember me talking last week about a furniture project that wasn’t going as planned? Well this is it! My sweet friend contacted me to refinish it for her soon-to-arrive baby boy… her 4th boy!
When I went to pick up the chest, I learned that her husband is from England, so the Union Jack has special significance… not only that, the chest itself was shipped here, a family owned piece, from England!
So when, the original design didn’t go as planned, I knew it had to be fixed… this was a piece that will be (hopefully) passed down through generations, and I didn’t ever want my friend to look at it with any regret!
So I redid the entire design on the front, centered both vertically and horizontally, with white at the top and bottom– a design she came up with!
Props to her, right? It looks fantastic!
I love that this baby isn’t getting normal 4th baby treatment, with hand-me-downs and left-overs. He is totally getting 1st baby treatment, which is very typical of my friend. She is so creative and attentive to the unique qualities of each of her children… she LOVES that she gets to have another boy! And I love that about her! Congratulations Susan! You inspire me!
Looks amazing! Great work, my friend. x
You have inspired me try my own Union Jack. Thanks. And you have a new follower.
This piece was very well done and the story was a little bit heartwarming for the holidays too! Keep up the good work!
