You are in for a treat today! Last week I didn’t have time to post because of my kitchen makeover that is happening AND three other deadlines on top of that. It’s been crazy around here but I have the best support system and I’m gettin shiz done! One of the days last week I spent most of the day painting. Not painting walls or furniture, but real painting. I got into a groove and came up with a couple paintings that I love for the holidays. Today I’m sharing one of them as part of the seasonal printable blog hope hosted by Kristen from Ella Claire Inspired!
I wanted to make something that was a little different– a postcard! Many people send out Christmas cards with family pics and all that, but I’m usually not that on the ball. A postcard though? That is something short and sweet and has a nostalgic sentiment, as Facebook and emails are taking over actual letters and notes sent in the mail.
There is something special about a hand-written note though, isn’t there?
Say hello to Stag at Sunrise.
This was SO hard to get photographed, edited and printed so that the printed version matched or came close to the original. I had so many proofs printed at OfficeMax, but finally arrived at something I was happy with!
While I have the size set to postcard size (4.5″ x 6″), you can choose to not print both sides and just put it in a frame!

To make a postcard, save these images on a jump drive, take it to your local OfficeMax or other printing location and ask them to print double sided (each image on one side), positioned 2 per sheet of 110# cardstock.
Disclaimer: This is an original painting that I am offering FREE for personal use only. Please don’t duplicate, distribute or try to sell this printable.

The depth in your painting is so fabulous, Rachel. You are such a an artistic talent! And great idea to print as a postcard. I just opened a handwritten thank you note from a couple we had over for dinner recently and it was such a nice surprise. I’m as guilty as anyone of shooting off a quick thank you e-mail, but you are so right that a handwritten note is so much more special, maybe especially now, in the age of everything electronic.
Thank you!
Just beautiful. I will be sending out postcards instead of cards to family and friends. Thank you so very much.
