DIY Chinoiserie Ornaments

December 7, 2015 Rachel 7 Comments

Last week in my Christmas Home Tour I shared some pictures of the hand-painted Chinoiserie ornaments I made for my tree and “mantel” under my tree. Today I’m sharing with you some ways to use the ornaments, AND the tutorial!

Chinoiserie Ornaments After I had several completed, I thought how pretty they would be, groups together in a dish. Since my table was already set with navy, green, and white, it was natural to arrange them in a wooden bowl. It is understating, yet striking and festive!

I also added some greenery to my chandelier and thought it looked so pretty with the full table shot… now to just get around to centering the chandelier over the table…. 🙂

The next fun way to use them is on garlands! I used them below my TV with a chinoiserie vase on either end, and it makes such a statement!

And lastly, the obvious choice for decorating with the ornaments is on the tree, but I love that I haven’t very much of these amongst all the Christmas decor in big box stores, but the color combo is so classic, it would be versatile year after year!

I’ll be honest, my favorite was these floral ones that I show how to do in the actual tutorial, but it’s fun to grab some of your own chinoiserie vases or urns and get inspiration for new designs!

Are these glass balls, or plastic. If glass, can you tell me where you purchased them. I went on amazon and white christmas balls are very expensive.

    Thanks so much

    Good Morning!
I love these blue hand painted balls…I just changed one of my trees to blue this year and going to try my hand at these!!
I do have a question…I have been looking for blue dishes and I love the ones you have displayed on your table! Where did you find those?
