Gettin My Craft On

August 23, 2013 Rachel 3 Comments

So much going on this week! My little sister is getting married this weekend in Alaska and my whole family is in town to help out and attend, of course. She is getting married in a remote boy scout lodge on a beach, so we made (and are still making) a lot of the decor. Below are some pics of what I have contributed!

P.S. I’m posting this from my phone y’all so bear with me!
1-Table centerpieces! The small ones are for the guest tables and the large one with Pussy Willow branches is for the guest book table. I found that huge gallon-sized Ball Mason Jar at Walmart! Decided to use it to hold the river rocks that guests will write their advice to the bride and groom.

2- Burlap and Baby’s breath wreath. This will be hung on the door to the lodge.

3- These wood burned little slices of wood for each table.

4- Wood burned design into this HUGE wood slice that will serve as the guest book.

5- Wedding Alter/ arch made from sheer panels, fresh ferns and Queen Ann’s Lace.

Much more to come! Including: bride’s hair and makeup, more table decor, ceiling decor in the lodge, and I’m sure more things I can’t think of right now! My mom brought up some Chalk Paint in French Linen so I could show my sister how to paint an adorable antique night stand that used to be in my room growing up.

Did you really find Queen Anne’s lace in Alaska?

Patti-Ann! Yes! Juneau is in a southeast part of Alaska and it is a temperate rain forest! We don’t get the extreme temperatures like further north does. It grows wild all over! (I even double checked online to make sure I wasn’t going crazy haha!)

This is awesome! My hubby is from Alaska and his dad and sis are still in Anchorage. Hope you’re loving it up there!
