This post is sponsored, my dear, sweet readers! World Market provided me with the items I chose, to help them showcase their new fall line. World Market is a brand I love and shop at regularly so this felt like a perfect fit when they contacted me. Please know that all opinions are my own and like all my sponsored content, if I didn’t feel honest about partnering with them I wouldn’t do it! 🙂
Soon without further ado…
Say hello to my new little “office” area in my master! This is where my latest blog posts have been created… so much more cozy than my living room desk where our desktop is located.
I decided to take pictures that included me using the space this time, because I am really into that look lately that conveys the message: a real, lived in space that is also beautiful. Of course I styled it and made sure it was clean… but I’m drawn to the pretty pics that include a sign of life… a child playing or simply the family that lives there, enjoying the space! After all… what good is a beautifully styled home if it can’t be enjoyed? There are many times that I created a pretty tablescape for a family dinner or restyled a room or vignette that never made it to my blog. I think my children appreciate the pretty decor more when they believe I don’t just do it for my blog. I do it for them.
Well, that was a bit of a tangent wasn’t it? haha… Okay so World Market asked me to create a design board BEFORE I went out and bought anything. This is actually a fantastic idea for anyone who gets to a place that has so many beautiful things that they can’t focus or buy several decor items that don’t end up going together. It helps you focus on what your vision and color palette is, and stick to it!
My bedroom has mostly neutrals with pops of aqua and teal, and lots of different textures.
I didn’t pay attention to actual measurements of the wall decor so when I got to the store and saw the actual size of the sunburst mirror and feather painting, then I had to improvise a bit and choose a coordinating frame to go below the mirror. Clusters of 3 are always better anyways! 🙂
Here is what ended up buying:
Mix & Match Desk – Wood Top and Metal Base
Aqua Wooden Frame – 11×14 size
White Collapsible Canvas Lamp Shade
Blue Hand-Painted Wood Newport Candleholders
Teal Crochet Faux Mohair Throw
The gold accents also play off the master bathroom fixtures, while the natural wood of the desk top is a recurring theme in the room and bathroom. I chose the metal desk base because it mimicked the black metal of the sliding barn door hardware.
This chair is one of my favorite aspects of the whole thing. I had previously the two chairs in this spot with fabric purchased to reupholster them. The fabric is ALMOST IDENTICAL to the fabric on this World Market chair (which btw is technically a dining chair)! And the tufting! And the brass nailheads! Insert big puffy hearts here.
This spot is used SO much more now, which I love.
What do you think of the new desk?
Some of my blog friends also used World Market mix and match desks to spruce up their space… look below to go check them out!

It looks great! I love, love that chair so much. The desk is perfect for that space.
Love the pieces you chose! Especially the chair. This makes me want to get my little office area spruced up!
This is such a calm and beautiful office space and I LOVE that lamp! I definitely agree with how creating the mood board first can really help solidify how a space will look and feel before you purchase the items. Now I want to create one for every room!
Well you look gorgeous (obv) but so do the chair and new desk. Love, love, love!
Ha! You must have been reading my mind because I’ve been searching for a new desk!
I’m so IN LOVE with this little office space. Oh, and that chair. Wow! I LOVE it. xxx
Do you know where we can buy this chair? I can’t find it on World Markets site anymore? Beautiful room
Can you provide where you found this desk?
It was from World Market, but it isn’t sold there anymore.
