Christmas is almost upon us! Our homes are all decorated, most of us have presents wrapped under the tree, menus and grocery lists are being written up for dinners, gatherings, and parties… But today, I thought it would be fun to join a group of gal-pals in sharing our homes all lit up at night, as part of the second annual Christmas Nights Tour hosted by my friend Rachel from Maison de Pax.
If you are popping over here from Shabbyfufu Blog, the previous stop in today’s hop, welcome! Glad you are here!
I never included our front porch in my official home tour a few weeks ago, so I thought now was as good a time as any! 😉 We had our first dusting of snow over the weekend and I ran outside while it was happening and captured these pictures.
I didn’t buy anything new for our front– besides the fresh tree from Costco. I reused stuff I had from last year and I think it looks so pretty and festive all lit up at night.
The bench stayed the same since my fall tour, but I added some red velvet pillows, a scarf that my bestie Lucy gave me and a little faux tree to the chippy stool/table.
If you remember from my shopping at Vintage Market Days this past fall, I picked up this vintage sled and I was pretty excited to use in out here on my front porch. I just tied some tree clippings and a gold cow-bell to with with green velvet ribbon.
The stocking holder I built last month moved out here and holds a little lantern, the family name sign I painted, and mini stockings. It’s a fun little welcome spot. 🙂 Oh and the two wreaths I recycled from last year’s woodland wreath trio, and the wood sunburst door mat I made earlier this spring.
I don’t get tired of seeing this pretty sight when we drive home from an the evening of running errands. 🙂
Another one of my favorite parts of having a lit tree on our front porch is that you can see if from our front room window.
This little buddy is the cutest when he sleeps– I have a hard time not smothering him with kisses.
I added some of these rice lights to the garland on the piano and it was a super long strand so I just let it sort of curl off the edge and hang out. These type of lights are my favorite.
My oldest has been practicing a few Christmas songs to play on his violin for Christmas Eve…I cannot wait!!!
We don’t have any lights in our kitchen or dining room, so I’m skipping over to our living room which has an abundant amount! 🙂
I hadn’t shown how I updated our gallery wall for Christmas from my home tour a few weeks ago, so I thought you might like to see it too. I painted this little snowy tree scene, and I love how it reminds me of my years growing up in Alaska.
This is our absolute favorite place to hang out and watch Elf, The Santa Clause, White Christmas, The Sound of Music, among other Christmas classics. I love this season SO much. And when there is lots of cozy places to cuddle, and pretty ambient lighting from the twinkling lights all around the room– well that is a recipe to never want to leave home. I swear I am turning more and more into an introvert! I love people– don’t get me wrong… but 9 times out of 10 these days, I’d much prefer to just stay home with my family and eat dove milk chocolate and drink grapefruit Izze’s. 😉
I’m pretty sad that in a little over a week this tree will be coming down. She’s quite magical.
Fair Isle anything is having a major moment right now, and I’m loving it. These little wooden mitten lights are one of my favorite finds from HomeGoods this year.
Looking back from this corner of the room, it’s a pretty view. You can’t see the tufted bench I built earlier this year, that sits below my painting, but those two pillows on that wall are sitting on top of it.
The herringbone coffee table is so perfect for this room’s arrangement, I doubt I’ll bring back our square one.
A glowy haven!
