I’ve been working on finishing my master bedroom and I’m getting soooo close! A few months ago I showed the shiplap wall and new headboard I installed…
…as well as the barn door to the master bathroom,
and last week I shared the spine bookshelf I created for the other side of the room.
And today I’m sharing the new art I made for the room!
In our first year of marriage, this song came out and I remember Bruno bought the CD and we listened to it in the car when we drove to school and to work. It was a hard year for us, but we learn and continue to learn, 11 years later, that we are better together. That choosing to love each other unselfishly, can overcome anything.
I don’t often get sentimental here, but this art has more meaning than to just look pretty… and I wanted to share a little more personal side. That and I recently finished the Grand Hotel series, and if that doesn’t make you want to kiss and cherish your love than I don’t know what would! 😉 haha! It is incredibly romantic. And suspenseful. Watch out… it is like Downton Abbey in Spain, but much better (in my opinion).
I picked up this little brass table at HomeGoods and I love how it looks between these two chairs. I know I had a desk here before, but it was too cramped, so I brought back the two chairs that were here before, and I will be reupholstering their backs this week or next.
I also want a little end table there, probably I’ll make the X End Table I designed earlier this year, since it is the perfect size. The mirror is an addition that I haven’t decided if it will stay yet or not. I like the space it occupies there though…
I made the art using only 1x2s and 1/4″ plywood painted with white gesso and it was surprisingly easy to make if you have a router! After that I simply stained the frame, and used a projector to display the quote that I created on photoshop.
I’m sorta digging the deconstructed look, so I’m thinking after I reupholster the front of the seat-back, I might just leave as-is for a bit to see how I like it.
So what do you think of the new art? Should I do a tutorial on it? It was so simple… But if a few of your are interested, then let me know, and I’ll include my word art as a free printable.
I am still waiting on a new rug for the room, some art, finishing the chairs, and that nightstand/end table for my side of the bed. The next time you see this room, it will be complete!
